The Awj narrative

How Awj took shape, and why: from a changing landscape to an operating model that makes impact last.

A changing landscape

The world is seeing a shift in the nature of the challenges institutions face: issues have grown more complex and more entangled, and partial solutions no longer resolve them. As the challenges changed, so did what institutions need — and with that came the need for integrated capabilities that make it possible to understand the shifts and design solutions that work.

Integration and collective intelligence

In response to those shifts, Awj was founded as the outcome of a strategic decision that brought five companies into a single entity, each having accumulated deep expertise in its own field. The merger connected that expertise within one system in which disciplines and roles integrate and reinforce one another in facing challenges — strengthening the capacity to deliver and making possible what none of them could achieve alone.

Toward a new operating model

That integration called for redesigning how value is created at Awj, within an operating model that begins by understanding the challenge and its context, then designs and tests the right solution, develops the capabilities it needs, supports its delivery, and carries through to the intended impact. The model produces a collective institutional intelligence that strengthens the ability to see the whole picture.

Awj's impact

Awj builds the systems that let solutions endure and their impact compound. Its aim does not stop at the success of a project or a programme; it reaches toward strengthening the cohesion and flourishing of society, and the sustainability of the impact.
